Hey CrossFitters,

If you’ve been in the gym since this past weekend you’ve probably noticed some changes. Expect more! We’re getting more members so in turn we’re improving the facility and getting more cool equipment. Sooo, if you can think of anything that we can do to improve the gym don’t hesitate to let us know your thoughts, we can’t think of everything.

Nutrition Tip:

Protein is not going to make you bulky, nor is it going to turn into fat. I know that is a bold statement, especially since it is not an impossibility. Yes you can probably consume too much protein and it is possible for it to be stored as fat, but only in extreme circumstances (note: you are not one of those people, and if I am wrong I will give you your money back. FYI, you’re not paying for these tips).

I’ve been around some super meatheads in my life and have yet to meet someone that consumed so much protein that they got fat, although I have met quite a few people who got fat off of donuts, twinkies, and SpaghettiO’s.

With that being said, if you are evaluating your nutrition habits you need to evaluate your carbohydrate intake first. Do you consume carbs in absence of protein? This is the first question that you should ask.

Second, what is the ratio of carbohydrate to protein consumption?

Third, what is the absolute value of carbohyrdrates being consumed in a day?

And fourth, what is the square root of the absolute value of the natural logarithm of the nutritional quality of the carbohydrates you are consuming?

Summary: Quit running out the door everytime you hear the Ice Cream Man…ie., cut back on your refined carbs like bread, pasta and white potatoes! …and ice cream or the last sentence doesn’t make any sense!

Ok my fingers got the best of me in that last section… they apologize.

Be sure to check out today’s blog link to the best article ever writen on fat loss by the king of fat loss results, Alwyn Cosgrove.

See you in the gym,
Mike
