Friday:
If you want to go to the Midsouth MMA Championships in Southhaven at Snowden Grove Amphitheatre this Friday at 7pm then bring $25 to me (Doug) here at CrossFit Memphis by 8pm tomorrow. A few of us have friends on the card so come out to support them!!
I have a group of tickets saved for us in the front row of the $25 section but not for long!…or you can pick them up from Dave at Memphis Judo and Jiu Jitsu or you can go to their link on Ticketmaster.
Saturday:
Join CrossFit Memphis for a fun filled lesson in gymnastics at Wimbleton Gymnastics (inside the WellWorX Sportsplex) this Saturday at noon. It’s going to be awesome! All the cool people are doing it! What’re’ya scared or somethin! It’s not that big of a deal… Come’on just try it… YOU WANT IN THE GANG OR NOT!!
If it’s nice out afterward maybe we can all find a place to go swimming too!! That way we can try all of our new tricks without face-planting into the carpet

Nutrition Tip:
Weight loss is not just about calories in vs. calories out. In a study of meal frequency, it has been shown that a group eating 6 meals per day lost more fat that a group eating 2 meals per day – despite calories being equal. Moreover, studies show that at the same caloric intake, low carbohydrate diets result in significantly greater fat loss that low fat diets.
I’m not demonizing carbohydrates here, I’m just pointing out that food quality and nutrient timing are just as important and the number of calories you eat.
Focus on food quality (i.e., lean meats and veggies), meal frequency (i.e., eat something every 2-3 hours), and nutrient timing (i.e., save carbs for breakfast and post-workout), not just on calories alone!
